Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdoicese of Port of Spain, Robert Llanos, addressing the crowd

On Monday 4th November 2013 the new school wing was blessed by Bishop Robert Llanos, the Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdoicese of Port of Spain, and also a Fatima alumnus.

Acting school principal, Fr. Gregory Augustine, thanked all who supported in this endeavor, especially as the wing was built in just over three months and completed under budget. Crews worked day and night to ensure the wing would be ready for classes on the first day of school. Special mention was made of Mark Jeremie who supervised the project and Paul Boissiere who was responsible for the electrical works, both of whom are Fatima alumni.

The Fatima students aided in the fundraising effort by having donation sheets filled out, and through this effort they were able to raise over TT $400,000. Those students who raised the most money individually were announced by Fatima Old Boys Association President, Dwight Andrews, and prizes were distributed accordingly. Dwight also stressed that even though the wing is completed the loans that were taken to complete the project still need to be paid and fundraising is still priority number one so all help and support is needed.
